VISICOM HydroDEM is an elevation model prepared specifically for water-related and environmental projects.
Elevation Data for Water and Environmental Projects
For water-related applications, a standard terrain model is often not sufficient. Even small elevation errors or artificial barriers can significantly affect water flow and flood modeling.
To ensure hydrological accuracy, terrain data is additionally processed:
- River channels are corrected
- Water flow continuity is ensured
- Artificial barriers, such as roads, bridges, and embankments, are removed or adjusted
The result is a hydrologically prepared terrain model that supports accurate simulation of water flow and flood zones.

HydroDEM is enhanced by:
- Digital Surface Models (DSM)
- Detailed land use maps
- 3D building layers
- High-resolution orthoimagery
When terrain, buildings, and land cover are aligned, you get a much clearer and more realistic picture of what is actually happening on the ground.
